Oakhurst Neighborhood Association

OVERVIEW MINUTES BY LAWS COMMITTEES THE BOARD

The Oakhurst Neighborhood Association (ONA) is a civic organization for and by the residents of Oakhurst. ONA strives to be an important part of the neighborhood by distributing information and providing opportunities for residents to grow our community. ONA meets the fourth Monday of every month at 7 pm in the Solarium at the Community Center located at the corner of Oakview Road and West Hill Street. At these meetings we introduce topics and guest speakers relevant to the unique concerns of the Oakhurst community, and we leave plenty of time for open discussion.

During the year, ONA sponsors several events including the Oakhurst Neighborhood Clean Up Days in April, a summer picnic in July, a community Thanksgiving dinner and a Holiday Celebration. ONA also participates in the Oakhurst Arts & Music Festival in October. All Oakhurst residents have a standing invitation to all of these events. We encourage you to come on by—this is, after all, YOUR neighborhood association.

Beyond monthly ONA meetings and scheduled events there is plenty of opportunity to get involved. One of the things we like best about Oakhurst is that there is such a diverse population full of ideas and perspectives. And that’s why we want to hear from you.

What does getting involved mean? Participation doesn’t have to be a full-time job. Any aid that you can lend will be most welcome. We look for simple volunteers at schedule events all the way through participation on our committees (see our Committees elseware on this site). There is plenty of room for you to help set the goals and to help make things happen. So if there is an issue that you care deeply about or you have a special talent or skill that could be of assistance, let us hear from you. This is a great way to get to know some of your neighbors while you are helping to shape your neighborhood.

We look forward to seeing some of the faces we’ve seen at ONA events previously as well as welcoming new ones. Feel free to contact us at ona@oakhurstga.org.
